In this article, you will learn how to enable and configure built-in rules, as well as how exceptions work.
Enabling built-in rules:
1. On the left hand side of the screen, select groups and rules
2. Select Rules
3. You can toggle the built-in rules on or off
**Built in rules will be applied to all vehicles in your fleet**
4. MyGeotab asks you to confirm whenever you enable or disable a built-in rule
5. Disabling a rule removes previously logged data about times the rule was broken and may impact existing reports in the database
6. Some rules come with sliders to adjust their sensitivity
7. You can also adjust the value manually
8. Click save when you are done adjusting the rule
What are Exceptions?
1. On the left hand side of the screen click groups and rules
2. Click on exceptions
3. Adjust the date range, rules, assets, etc. that you would like to include in the report
4. Select the exception to see which assets broke the rule
5. Select the asset to view its violations
6. Select any violation event to analyze it further
7. From the overview page, you can review the full event details, including a timeline of events and map view
8. Click the view speed profile to compare the assets speed to the posted speed limit
9. Hover your mouse over any moment of the speed profile graph to see, data and time, logged speed and speed limit
